How to open the control panel
The control panel is located on the top right side of your refrigerator. To open it, first locate the tab on the left side of the panel. Once you have found it, press down and pull the panel towards you.
How to change the water filter
If your Whirlpool refrigerator has a water filter, you’ll need to change it every six months or so. Here’s how:
1. open the filter compartment door, located in the bottom right corner of the refrigerator.
2. remove the old filter by turning it counterclockwise until it pops out.
3. insert the new filter into the compartment, turning it clockwise until it clicks into place.
4. close the compartment door, and you’re done!
How to set the refrigerator temperature
Most Whirlpool refrigerators feature an electronic control panel that makes it easy to set the temperature. The display will show you the current temperature of the fridge, as well as the recommended setting. You can use the + and – buttons to adjust the temperature up or down. Aim for a setting between 35 and 38 degrees Fahrenheit.
How to clean the refrigerator
Whirlpool recommends cleaning your refrigerator every six months to keep it looking its best. If you notice that your refrigerator is starting to look dirty or if it isn’t cooling properly, it’s probably time for a cleaning.
To clean your Whirlpool refrigerator, follow these steps:
1. Unplug the refrigerator.
2. Remove all food from the fridge, including anystocks and sauces stored in the door pockets.
3. Take out all shelves and drawers and wash them in warm, soapy water. Rinse well and dry thoroughly.
4. Wipe down the inside of the fridge with a solution of equal parts vinegar and water. Be sure to clean the gasket around the door as well as the seal on the freezer door (if applicable).
5. Wipe down the exterior of the fridge with a damp cloth.
6. Plug in the refrigerator and replace all shelves and drawers.
How to troubleshoot common refrigerator problems
Is your refrigerator not cooling properly? Is your freezer not freezing properly? Here are some tips on how to troubleshoot common refrigerator problems.
1. Check the power supply. Make sure the refrigerator is plugged into a working outlet and that the circuit breaker has not tripped.
2. Check the temperature settings. The recommended setting for most refrigerators is between 35 and 40 degrees Fahrenheit.
3. Check for blockages. Make sure there is nothing blocking the air vents in the refrigerator or freezer compartment.
4. Check for leaks. Inspect the seals around the doors to make sure there are no leaks that could be causing warm air to enter the refrigerator or freezer compartment.
5. Check for frost build-up. Frost build-up can cause the evaporator coils to freeze, which will prevent the refrigerant from circulating properly and cause the temperature in the refrigerator or freezer to rise. If you see frost build-up, turn off the power to the refrigerator and let it thaw for 24 hours before turning it back on.
How to defrost the refrigerator
To defrost the refrigerator, first unplug it from the power outlet. Then, remove all food from the refrigerator and discard any that has spoiled. Next, remove the shelves and drawers from the refrigerator. Finally, use a hair dryer to melt any ice that has built up on the coils.
How to reset the refrigerator
If your Whirlpool refrigerator isn’t working properly, you may need to reset it. To do so, first unplug the refrigerator from the power outlet. Then, locate the reset button on the back of the unit, near the bottom. Press and hold this button for about five seconds.
After five seconds have passed, plug the refrigerator back into the power outlet and turn it on. Wait a few minutes to see if the fridge reset successfully. If it didn’t work, try resetting it again using the same method.
How to know if the refrigerator is working properly
Is your Whirlpool refrigerator not cooling properly? Here are a few things to check before youcall a service technician. First, make sure that the power cord is plugged into an outlet and that the refrigerator is switched on. Next, check the temperature control to see if it is set to the correct setting. If it is, then the problem may be with the evaporator fan or condenser fan. These fans circulate air within the refrigerator and help to keep it cool. If either of these fans is not working properly, then the refrigerator will not be able to cool properly.
If you have checked all of these things and the refrigerator still is not cooling properly, then you may need to call a service technician.
How to find the manual for the refrigerator
If you need to find the manual for your Whirlpool refrigerator, there are a few ways you can do so. First, check the refrigerator itself. There should be a sticker on the inside of the fridge door that has the model number listed. Alternatively, look for a tag on the back of the fridge or on the bottom front panel. If you can’t find the model number anywhere on the fridge, try looking up your serial number in Whirlpool’s online database.
